The site of Universal Studios Japan was originally used as a factory for heavy industries such as Hitachi Shipbuilding and Sumitomo Metal Industries, but after the relocation of the factory, it was leased to the studio on a term loan basis. Universal Studios is attended mainly by tourists from Japan and neighboring Asian countries such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and in 2005, investment bank Goldman Sachs became the majority shareholder of Universal Studios Japan, with Universal Pictures taking a minority stake. Universal Studios Japan is a movie-themed amusement park featuring a variety of exciting rides in New York, Hollywood, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Snoopy’s Studio, Lagoon, Water World, Goodwill Village, Oz, and other themes.

Refund Rules

  1. Refund application period
    • Visitors are required to submit a refund application 5 working days in advance of the designated park day. Refunds cannot be made after the deadline.
  2. Refund Fee
    • 10% of the ticket price will be charged as a handling fee for refunds made more than 5 days before the park day.
    • Refunds made between 1 and 5 days prior to the park day will be charged at 20% of the ticket price.
    • No refunds will be issued on or after the day of the tour.
  3. Ticket Refund Conditions
    • Tickets must be in unused condition and only valid tickets purchased through our ticketing channels.
